Christ Of The Deep Installed In The Grenada Underwater Sculpture Park

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the sinking of the Bianca C the Grenada Scuba Diving Association and the Grenada Board of Tourism installed a replica of the Christ of the Deep in Grenada's Underwater Sculpture Park. This beautiful sculpture was realized by local artist Troy Lewis. The park originally was founded in 2006 by the English artist Jason DeCaires Taylor. Today it exhibits a multitude of sculptures created by various artists. The original Christ of the Deep is made from bronze and can be seen in the Carenage of St. George’s. The statue was donated by Costa Line to the people of Grenada for their hospitality and helpfulness after the sinking of the Bianca C in October 1961.
