VHF - GPS Radio for Divers
Dive safety just changed forever with the introduction of this unit, a compact full featured GPS radio for divers that is depthrated to 425 fee/130 m. It is similar in size to a mobile phone but a bit thicker. You can use it as a full featured marine VHF radio or ask for help on CH16 from ANY boat around you within an 12 mile/18.5 km radius. Never worry about your dive boat finding you again. The diver location unit shows you your GPS position, VHF channel in use and battery life, it features chat channel and non-emergency functions as well as a DSC function allowing you to broadcast an alarm and your GPS position to every vessel in range that is equipped with a modern VHF marine radio. Lights will flash, horns will go off, everyone else’s radio will autoswitch to channel 16 and your GPS coordinates and brief message will be displayed on their radios.
Depress button for 3 seconds for DCS transmission of distress message. The unit will send GPS coordinates that will display on the other vessel’s marine radios within 8 miles. Activate optional non-emergency group call with GPS coordinates and automatic channel switch for all Lifelines belonging to a specific dive boat or group.
